Consigning Design

We offer consignment for high end sofas, loveseats, recliners, dinette sets, armoires, desks, daybeds, rocking chairs, bar stools, tables of all types, cedar chests, lamps, mirrors, artwork, high end accessories and some textiles. We do not accept mattresses, electronics (including computers), appliances, infant car seats or furniture, medical supplies or furniture, videos, audio tapes or CDs.

Our staff will discuss pricing with you when the item is received. We encourage you to visit the store or look around this Web site to see the range of prices for similar items. When you bring your item for consignment, we will ask its age, original price, where purchased, manufacturer, etc. Our rule of thumb is that we can price an item at 30 to 50% of its original purchase price. You will be given a signed contract and an itemized listing of your consigned items when you leave our store.

Contract Terms

You receive 50% of the selling price.
You agree to leave your item for 120 days (30 days at full price and then a 10% reduction in price every 30 days if the item has not sold)
At the end of your contract period, you may pick up your unsold items. If you do not pick up these items, the price is reduced by an additional 20% or in some cases, we donate items priced below $20.
We do not charge an initiation or account fee.
A .99 to 3% handling fee is added to each item. This fee is paid by the buyer.
At the end of each month, we cut checks for the previous month's sales ($35 minimum). One dollar is deducted to cover supplies and handling. You can call for your check to be mailed or you can pick it up in person but always call first if you are picking up your check to inquire about the exact date they will be cut.

Note: Petersons' Consigning Design will make every effort to provide a secure environment for your items, however, they are yours until sold. If an item is of unusual value, we suggest you provide insurance for fire, theft or other loss through your homeowners insurance or renters policy.
